I have been using the MacBook Pro 14" for a few weeks now, and I wanted to share my review of this impressive machine.
In a nutshell, it’s simply amazing.
This particular MacBook Pro is equipped with the M1 Max processor, making it one of the most powerful portable Macs I’ve ever used.
As someone who typically opted for entry-level computers, investing in a top-of-the-line MacBook Pro was a significant step for me. While I may not make this kind of purchase again, I believe it’s worth it at this point in my career, as it will undoubtedly help me perform better in my job.
Moreover, spending money is crucial for businesses in today’s society. By investing in business tools, you can save on taxes and allocate your funds more efficiently. For instance, when you purchase with business money, you don’t pay the full amount of VAT, and the cost can be deducted from your taxable income. Ultimately, a 2000€ computer can end up costing around 1000€, making it a sensible investment.
Typically, I tend to have buyer’s remorse after making a purchase, but this time, I have none. This MacBook Pro is an absolute beast of a machine.
I opted for the version with a 10-core CPU, a 32-core GPU, and 64GB of RAM. With such impressive specifications, I know that this MacBook Pro will last me a long time.
Now, let’s discuss what I specifically like about this machine. To provide some context, I’ll compare it to the three Macs I’ve owned in the past: a 2010 13" MacBook Pro, a 2018 13" MacBook Air, and a 2019 16" MacBook Pro.
-
Portability: The 2021 MacBook Pro 14" is remarkably more portable and lightweight than my old 2019 16" model. It’s a thick MacBook, but I can easily carry it with me everywhere.
-
Power: While it may be thicker and heavier than the MacBook Air, it is significantly more powerful as well. This boost in performance is a major advantage.
-
Nostalgia: This MacBook Pro reminds me of my trusty 2010 MacBook Pro, which lasted me nine years thanks to occasional RAM and SSD upgrades. I appreciate that Apple used to make Mac laptops upgradeable.
-
Video Editing: The video editing capabilities of this MacBook Pro are absolutely fantastic and incredibly fast compared to my 2019 model.
-
Temperature: Unlike my previous MacBook Pros, this one stays remarkably cool and doesn’t overheat even during intensive tasks.
-
Battery Life: The battery life on this MacBook Pro is astounding. I can hardly believe it. The battery on my 2019 model barely lasted three hours.
-
Portability (again): Compared to the 16" MacBook Pro, I find myself taking this 14" model with me more often. It fits easily into my backpack and doesn’t feel like a burden.
-
Everyday Use: For 90% of my activities, the main differences I notice are the improved battery life and reduced heat coming from the keyboard. And that’s already a game-changer.
-
Content Creation: As a content creator in the “creator economy,” the main difference I see with this MacBook Pro is during video editing. If a tool gets in my way, I get nervous. However, this machine allows me to work faster and happier, enhancing my competitive advantage.
Overall, the 2021 MacBook Pro 14" with its incredible power, portability, and battery life is an excellent choice for professionals and content creators alike.
