Linux command: open

Quick startopenCommands for opening files, directories and applications

ThisopenThe command allows you to open the file using the following syntax:

open <filename>

You can also open a directory that opens the Finder application in the current directory on macOS:

open <directory name>

I always use it to open the current directory:

open .

special.The symbol points to the current directory, such as..Point to parent directory

The same command can also be used to run the application:

open <application name>

ThisopenThis command can be used in Linux, macOS, WSL and wherever you have a UNIX environment
